Do
players need prior experience?
Not generally. There can sometimes be
difficulty in trying a new sport, and players may
occasionally have difficulty adapting, but no player is
generally excluded on the basis of never having played
cricket before. The Club has a development policy that
encourages players to start at the Minicricket level and
progress through the age divisions up to under 16, and
then on to senior cricket.

Are
Coaches suitably qualified?
Most coaches
have at least a Level 1 accreditation from Cricket NSW.
The Club encourages and offers courses as they become
available from our governing body.
All managers and coaches have
completed a ‘Working With Kids Check’, as proscribed by
NSW Government legislation.

Do I
need to buy equipment?
All equipment is provided by the
Club. The Committee recommends that each player purchase
a personal protector, also known as a “Hector” or “Box”.
These protectors are available from any good sports
store for a reasonable cost.

What
happens if I miss a game?
As teams are
formed with a squad of around 12 players, absences are
not encouraged. You will need to make a commitment to
the team and the Club for the duration of the season.
Junior games generally
follow the school term, and Senior games have a two or
three-week break over Christmas/New Year.
Absence due to illness or
injury is unforseen of course.

What
insurance cover will I be able to obtain to cover
possible injury while playing?
The Association with which we are
affiliated has a Public Liability Policy, and a personal
injury policy for each team. Whilst this may not cover
all circumstances, it is an improvement on previous
years. For full details, contact the
Club Secretary. You may always arrange your own
income/accident policy if in doubt.
